COVID-19 considerations continue to delay re-scheduling of the 25th International Conference on Subterranean Biology. However, it is now expected the Conference will be held in 2022, with planning commencing again in mid-2021.
The Web of Science Editorial Team have completed an evaluation of the Society’s journal Subterranean Biology and determined that the journal will receive an impact factor in 2021! Congratulations to the journal editor, Dr Oana Moldovan, and the many contributors of papers to the journal.

The 25th ICSM will take place in Alba Iulia, the most beautiful city in Romania, from the 28th of June to the 4th of July 2020. It celebrates 100 years of the Institute of Biospeology in Romania but will cover all facets of subterranean biology, with field trips to caves. It is with great sadness the ISSB advises that the former president of the Society and renowned subterranean researcher, Prof. Christian Juberthie, passed away on 9 November.
